Background
WebEx Connect is a Software-as-a-Service platform which unifies On-Premises and On-Demand solutions to create customizable business “Mashups” for knowledge workers.  It’s based around instant communication and introduces the notion of customizable, virtual “Workspaces” where members can host persistent discussions, share and collaborate on documents, and meet in real-time using WebEx online meeting technologies.
My Role
As one of the primary User Experience Designers, I was involved from the early stages of conception and helped to steer the development of the User Interface and Interactions.  I planned, implemented and moderated several concept tests to help define design direction.  I analyzed and described in detail, specific user scenarios and developed rich user personas in the effort to define the design direction. As the primary visual designer, I defined the overall visual direction of the platform.  Once I established the visual direction, I managed designers in China on the development of detailed style guides for use by Engineering and third-party development partners.
