Overview
In pursuit of GettyImages' commitment to deliver on its customer promise of offering "authentic" stock imagery, a dedicated and agile team was formed within the Contributor organization. This select group embarked on a strategic initiative to explore the concept of leveraging a mobile application as a means to facilitate the acquisition of content embodying that desired visual aesthetic. By establishing this small yet dynamic tactical unit, GettyImages aimed to experiment and innovate, pushing the boundaries of traditional stock imagery and embracing the potential of mobile technology to fulfill the evolving needs and preferences of its discerning customer base.
My Role
In my capacity as the Product Design Manager at GettyImages Contributor, I assumed a leadership role overseeing a team of skilled Product Designers while maintaining close collaboration with crucial stakeholders from the Product and Development teams. Our collective mission revolved around the creation of a cutting-edge mobile application, employing an iterative approach to design and development, supplemented by meticulous qualitative and quantitative analyses. Through our concerted efforts, we successfully delineated a minimum viable product (MVP) that yielded tangible and quantifiable results, aligning with our predetermined objectives.
Contributor Personas
As an accomplished contributor to the organization, a notable achievement of mine encompasses the development of a comprehensive collection of user personas. Driven by the imperative need to establish a shared vernacular for discussing our contributors, I embarked on the creation and dissemination of these user personas across various departments within the organization. Getty, confronted with the challenge of lacking a cohesive and all-encompassing comprehension of our diverse user base, was hindered by the ownership of disparate aspects of our contributor community by different teams. However, with the introduction of these meticulously crafted personas, a remarkable transformation took place, unifying our comprehension of our valued contributors and fostering a shared language that facilitated fruitful conversations surrounding their characteristics and needs.
